In the various places in the world

Where women endure disrespect, their stories unfold,

These women, each one, someone’s sister or kin,

A mother or a wife, in a world they have been.

We worship mothers, in rituals and song,

Durga, Kali, Lakshmi, Saraswati, strong,

Yet sometimes, within a mother’s core,

Lies a pain that’s too deep to ignore.

Cast aside, as if a beggar in the street,

Durga, the mother, in her throne, we seat,

But what does Mother Durga seek to find,

A thought that lingers in every mind.

She longs for the end of the mother’s plight,

To banish the darkness, to bring forth the light,

In the hearts of all, let compassion reign,

For every mother’s sacrifice, their silent pain.

Let us break the chains of disdain and despair,

Celebrate every mother with love and care,

For within each woman, the mother resides,

In unity and respect, her strength abides.

No more shall mothers face unjust disdain,

As Durga sits high, let her messages remain,

In the triumph of the mother within, we’ll see,

A world where love and respect forever will be.
