In lands where legends etch upon the soul,

Kartikeya reigns, his stories extol,

Murugan, Kandhan, in worship whole,

God of war and victory, tales unroll.

Tamil Nadu, where his shrines abide,

Adored by all, Sangam’s timeless guide,

Son of Shiva and Parvathi’s pride,

Protector, in battles, where destinies bide.

God of Tamil, Sangam’s poetic art,

Six abodes stand, each a sacred part,

In histories spun, devotees impart,

Lord Murugan’s grace, a revered heart.

Kartik Purnima, a sacred rite,

Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, in celestial light,

Born this day, Kartikeya’s might,

Danced gods in joy, a divine sight.

Kartik, beauty’s epitome true,

On peacock perched, a charming view,

Moustache and curls, bow and arrows in view,

Symbol of fertility, where legends accrue.

Idol pranks, a playful tease,

Kartik placed to bring blessings, ease,

Homes adorned, hearts to appease,

Innocent mischief, divinity’s release.

Reporter’s quest, idols’ tale unfurled,

Kartik’s form, timeless, unswirled,

Clay pitchers, offerings pearled,

Joyful play, innocence twirled.

Kartik month, Bengal’s fervent phase,

Shiva’s worship, devotion’s blaze,

Sankranti’s fire, a mystic craze,

Misfortunes burnt, hope’s raise.

Effigies submerged, rituals old,

Lakshmi invoked, blessings enfold,

Tales of Kartikeya, in epics told,

Devotion’s tapestry, a treasure to hold.
